Jeanine Hoff Lubben, Owner
Jeanine loves a lot of things: her husband, sons, Pomeranians (Cubby and Macy), cat (Oliver), and spending time with all of the above. But on top of that, she loves meeting new people and pets, creating relationships, and helping others hands-on through Paws Pet Resort.
Since being struck with a God-given inspiration, she knew that running a business for charity was her calling.
“I had a full-fledged crying breakdown while watching a video at a conference. The video was about creating a business to generate a steady income stream that could be given to charity. I immediately knew this was a business model I wanted to emulate.”
A few years—and lots of planning—later, Paws Pet Resort is her dream come true for that cause.
David Hyde, General Manager
With more than 15 years of experience in the pet industry, David knows the ins and outs of pet care, boarding, and grooming. He has four children and three dogs, and loves spending as much time with all of them as possible. For him, making a difference means bringing joy to others—which he does every day at Paws Pet Resort!
“The way that PPR came together is proof that God has a hand in everything,” David says. “I am glad to know that I am working for a bigger purpose. To work where everything we do in a day is making a difference. Whether that’s extra love to our furry friends, or donating to our charities. To know that I have to opportunity to change the lives of others, whether that is the employees who work for us or the people that are apart of the charities we donate to. And last but not least, working with Jeanine has been one of the best experiences I have ever had.”
Sami Jo, Trainer and K9 Behaviorist
Sami Jo is our daycare manager, she also leads all of our training classes. Sami's passion for dogs started at an early age. As early as she can remember she was all about dogs. From following in her Father's footsteps in the field behind his hunting dogs, to watching dogs work, she had an intense appreciation for canines. Working with dogs was natural for her considering how much she love to be around them!
When Sami Jo was able to own her first dog, a German Shepherd named Blu, it changed her life forever. She started service work with Blu and quickly realize search-and-rescue is where their passion lied. Sami and Blu were soon certified to be tracking team in 2016. However, they're serving the community did not stop there. They love training so much that Sami was inspired to attend Starmark Academy for dog trainers in Texas. Sami Jo graduated as a certified canine training and behavioral specialist. While she was there she had extensive hands-on education with basics, intermediate, and advanced off-leash obedience, clicker training, behavior modification, puppy obedience and socialization, nuisance behavior problems and canine Sports. After returning from Texas, they made an addition to their family adding a black Labrador Retriever named Tex to the pack. Both dogs love coming to work with Sami everyday and learning new behaviors. Sami and Blu recently were certified as a therapy dog team. Tex loves to retrieve and is making his way to becoming a stellar hunting dog. Sami and her dogs also enjoyed dock diving obedience classes, agility, hiking and traveling together!
Brooke, Boarding Specialist
As a frequent traveler, Brooke knows how nerve-wracking it can be to leave behind your furry friends. With that in mind, she makes it her goal each day to ensure that the animals in Paws Pet Resort boarding program receive as much love, attention, and care as you possibly can dole out. What she loves most about being a member of the Paws boarding team is developing relationships with repeat boarders and helping each pet that visits develop a sense of security in their home away from home. "When dogs and cats come to stay with us, I want them to feel as though it was a second home. I want them to enjoy their time here and to be as excited to visit us again in the future. I also want owners to feel confident when leaving their pets with us, knowing that their beloved companions will receive the utmost and Care."
Brooke graduated in December of 2017 with a degree in Veterinary technology and has been with Paws Pet Resort ever since. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her beagle Izzy, travel, read Stephen King novels, and eat pie.
Kelli, Boarding Specialist
Kelli is one of the full time Pet Specialists at Paws Pet Resort. She has been around animals most of her life and hopes that her Veterinary Technician background will be a great asset to the team. Kelli enjoys caring for every one of the guests that comes in, making sure that all of their needs are met. Creating new relationships not only with the pets but also with their owners is something she is very passionate about. Kelli is excited to help others in the community and to make a difference in the lives of the different charities Paws Pet Resort supports.
Sami B, Daycare Expert
My name is Sami, I work in Daycare here at Paws Pet Resort. I graduated from Washington High School in 2013 and I live in Sioux Falls with my fiance, Peter. We have two dogs, a 13 yr Siberian Husky named Sunka and a 1 yr old Australian Shepard mix named Blue. In my spare time I like to hang out with my friends and family. And of course my pups! I also like to go for walks/hikes, play video games, and paint/draw. Ever since I was little, I had a passion for animals. Big and small. I’ve always been lucky enough to have man’s best friend by my side and I couldn’t imagine life without a furry companion. Some of my favorite charities are WWF, Operation Homefront, and Feeding South Dakota. They are wonderful charities that help with saving wildlife, assisting our US vets in need, and helping those who need a meal. I love working with pets because it is therapeutic. It’s very calming. It just doesn’t seem like work to me, I’m having too much fun! I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to work at Paws Pet Resort. My favorite part is seeing each dog progress in their own way. They can start out so shy and nervous and by their second day back they come out of their shell, ready to interact with all the other dogs. It’s truly amazing to watch this unfold right in front of you.
Kenydie, Boarding Specialist
Hi my name is Kenydie! I am 20 years old and live here in Sioux Falls. I have always had a passion for animals. With a wiggle of a tail or a kiss on the cheek pets can fix your bad day and make you smile. In fact when I was little I was convinced that I was going to be a vet. Today I am a full time dog groomer at Glamour Paws, as well as working at Paws Pet Resort. I have one standard poodle named Farrah and one grey cat named Mr. Smee (from Peter Pan).
One of my favorite charities is the Sioux Empire Pit Rescue, they are wonderful!
Jaime, Boarding Specialist
Jaime enjoys spending time with her family, being an artist, playing tug of war with her beagle Deacon, watching Dancing with the Stars and cheering on her beloved Packers. There were a few things that drew Jaime to Paws Pet Resort, one was being able to work with dogs. Jaime loves all thing animals. She dreams of creating a painting collection based off the struggles with extinction of certain animals and selling them so she can donate the money to the World Wild Life Fund. The second thing that lead Jaime to Paws Pet Resort was the fact that not only do they donate to charities but they have gotten involved with them personally. She loves working at Paws Pets Resort. She knows she will always end the day with a smile.
Maasa, Boarding Specialist
Maasa Spader is the oldest of 5 children to Tony and Stephanie Spader. Her passion is working with animals. Her “happy place” is when she is at Paws Pet Resort “working”. If she was allowed, she would probably just move in! When she is not at work, she loves to play with her own dogs, take them for walks, bathe them, use treats to train them and just sit on the floor and snuggle. Besides her love for dogs she also has a deep affection for horses. She spent 9 years driving a team of draft horses in 4-H and owns a quarter horse named Charlie Brown whom she loves to spend as much time as possible with and barrel races for fun. Her favorite charity is Rebekah’s Legacy Foundation as it was created in honor of her sister who passed away at the age of 10, in August of 2016, from acute myeloid leukemia. The foundation fundraises in order to provide hope to families that are experiencing financial strain caused by medical expenses. Maasa is a joy to be around as her love for Jesus shines through her embrace on life itself!
Katie, Boarding Specialist
Katie is a part time boarding specialist here at Paws Pet Resort. Katie grew up on a farm in Northwest Iowa surrounded by animals of all shapes and sizes. Many of her fondest childhood memories include the pets in her family and rescuing loose dogs with her grandma. She graduated from Crown College near the Twin Cities with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a minor in Cross-Cultural ministry. The college she attended was very focused on missions and gave her a desire to find a greater purpose in work. She is excited to be working with a company focused on impacting the surrounding community and world. In her spare time, Katie enjoys going on long walks and hiking with her Labradoodle Charlie, baking, cooking, and reading.
Mickelle, Boarding Specialist
Hello, my name is Mickelle! I love to be outdoors and go on walks or hiking trips with my fur baby, aka partner in crime, Bucklee. If I am not out and about with Bucklee I am usually playing with my not so fur babies, Fanklin and Friend, my two leopard geckos. My favorite part of working with the team at Paws is that every fur baby that comes in we provide all of the attention imaginable, this including really cute treats and peanut butter Kongs! I love meeting new pets and discovering their unique personality, which makes it impossible to have favorites. Working at Paws reminds me of how blessed we are to have our fur babies in our lives. I am currently working towards a career in veterinary medicine, I hope to work with livestock and companion animals.

Chelsey, Boarding Specialst
My name is Chelsey and I have recently started working at Paws Pet Resort part-time. When it comes to dogs you can find no greater fan and caretaker for your furry friend. I have two dogs of my own, a Pit-Bull/Boxer mix named Sedona and a purebred Shiba Inu named Toshi. Sedona is a sweet old lady who loves all people and all living creatures, she is the gentlest dog you will ever meet. My boy Toshi is my wild one with tons of sass and mischief in a 26 pound package. They are both my beautiful fur babies, and with their size and personality differences you can bet I can handle a wide range of dogs at the resort.
When I am not on the job in my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, watching shows on Netflix and Hulu, and playing video games together with my husband. I am a certified geek and love all things nerdy.
As a life long animal fanatic, your pets are in wonderful hands here at the resort!
